I Section A - The Oakes Times, Thursday, August 7, 2003 m 2003-2004 School Opening Information Supt. Art Conklin announces that the Oakes Public School District #41 will conduct the first day of classes on Monday, August 25. Classes will be in ses- sion for a full day for all students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Oakes Public Schools The Oakes Public Schools are fully accredited by the State Department of Public Instruction and the North Central Association of Colleges and Second- ary Schools. It offers a wide range of school curriculum to any student. Credits are accepted by any college or university. In addition to its complete academic program, Oakes High school offers a wide selection of co-curricular activities for all of its students. Faculty Workshops The firsf day of school will be preceded by faculty and staff workshops, which will be held Tuesday, August 19; Wednesday, August 20; and Thursday, August 21. School Cancellations If school will not be in session due to inclement weather or for other Acts of God, announcements will be aired over KDDR (Oakes); KXJB TV and WDAY TV. Should school be let out early under similar circumstances, the same process shall be utilized. Please listen to your radio or television. School Board Meetings Regular School Board meetings are conducted at Oakes High School in Room 102 (ITV) on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 7:30 p.m. All meetings are open to the public. Any person desiring to appear before the school board on business should contact the superintendent or school busi- ness manager at least one week prior to the meeting so that information can be included in the Board agenda and distributed to the news media and school board members in advance. Athletic Activity Tickets Activity tickets for athletic contests can be purchased at the high school principal's office. The prices are:- Adult Season Pass (family)...$125 - Adult Season Pass (single)...$55 The charge for individual tickets at the door is $5 for adults and $2 for stu- dents (K-12). Pre-school may attend games at no charge when accompanied by an adult. These rates and policies described above include admittance at all regular season games, but not to tournaments or music events.
